Creating Pathways: Women & Girls in Movement presented by RIDC in partnership with On at #TRE25

Movement should be accessible to everyone, but for many women, especially those aged 18–34 and in underserved communities, barriers still stand in the way of participation. Creating Pathways: Women & Girls in Movement brings this critical conversation to The Running Event’s Training Camp Theater, offering fresh insights and real-world solutions for breaking those barriers.

In partnership with On, the Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC) is leading a first-of-its-kind, community-centered research project exploring the lived experiences, motivators, and challenges of women engaging in movement — from walking and hiking to running and fitness. This session will reveal early findings and feature a dynamic discussion with community leaders who are shaping more inclusive and sustainable pathways into movement.

Attendees will leave inspired and equipped with actionable strategies to strengthen their businesses and communities through equity-driven approaches.

Key Takeaways:

  • Understanding Barriers and Motivators: Learn what prevents women — especially first-time or underserved participants — from joining movement spaces, and what truly inspires them to stay engaged.

  • Evaluating What Works: Gain insights into community programs that resonate, where efforts fall short, and how to design initiatives that build trust, representation, and long-term impact.

  • Applying Scalable Strategies: Walk away with a playbook of approaches that brands, retailers, and run clubs can use to create more accessible, relevant, and empowering experiences for women in movement.

Join us at TRE 2025 to attend this session, learn more, and reimagine what it means to move — together!
