Let’s get moving

Six months of training, your way, on us!

Introducing: RIDC’s
Movement for All, Powered by On

We believe anyone who wants to run, walk, or move their body deserves the same guidance, accountability, and infrastructure often reserved for elite athletes. That’s why we’re providing six months of fully funded coaching and training support to help you start moving, or get back to it with confidence.

A national initiative to help more people get moving.

How it works:

  1. Define your movement goals. Choose a race, milestone, consistency goal, or simply return to movement. You decide what matters most.

  2. Find your movement space. Explore our curated list of partner gyms and studios aligned with your goals. Don’t see your city? Check out our virtual options. This initiative is available nationwide!

  3. Apply. Applications open April 14, 2026 and close May 13, 2026. If accepted, you’ll be notified mid-May and will have 5 days to confirm your participation.

  4. Get ready. This program offers you 6 months of coaching for FREE. Once accepted, you will have a few weeks until GO time!

  5. Share your journey. Help motivate others by participating in optional storytelling and community engagement. Let your community know another round is coming in 2027 and 2028!

Why it works:

RIDC’s Movement for All, Powered by On, is grounded in research and designed to remove barriers to movement by investing directly in coaching and training support. We aim to help participants build consistency, confidence, and long-term movement habits.

Instead of dictating outcomes, we place trust in participants to define their own goals. Whether that means training for a first race, returning after injury or postpartum, building a consistent routine, or reconnecting with fitness, this program supports your path.

Why it matters

  1. Coaching changes outcomes. That’s where we invest.

  2. Trust = results. You define success.

  3. Access should be simple, not gatekept.

  4. Support should exist everywhere, not just in major cities.

  5. Progress is personal. Community matters more than podiums for this program.

Who should apply

Inspired by research on barriers to movement faced by women, particularly those from underrepresented communities, Movement for All is open to anyone who wants to run, walk more, or move their body.

Whether you are new to movement, returning after a break, or rebuilding, this program is designed to support your goals and help reduce common barriers along the way.

FAQs

  • Anyone can apply!

This program is open to individuals at any stage of their movement journey. We especially aim to reach people who are new to movement or returning after time away, with a focus—based on our research—on engaging women ages 18-36.

  • This is not limited to running!

We know movement looks different for everyone, so we’ve partnered with coaches and programs across a range of disciplines, such as:

    • Running or walking

    • Strength training

    • Yoga

    • Cycling

    • Boxing

    • Triathlon training

    • General fitness or wellness routine

    • Returning to movement after time away or injury

The goal is to support structured, consistent movement in whatever form aligns best with your needs and goals.

  • Selected participants will receive:

    • 6 months of coaching, fitness classes, or structured training support, with the full membership cost covered by the program

    • Placement with a training program of your choice from our curated vendor directory

We’re here to help remove the financial barrier to accessing movement. Memberships will vary by program, but we aim to provide at least 1 day per week of structured training. Personalized training may include fewer monthly sessions, but it is designed to give you a consistent, supportive plan to follow each week. At the core, this is about helping you find a rhythm that works—and having the right support system to stick with it.

  • No.

This program is open to all but designed for:

    • Beginners

    • People restarting their fitness journey

    • Individuals working toward consistency

There are no pace, performance, or experience requirements.

  • Participants are expected to:

    • Engage consistently in their coaching or training program. You don’t need to attend every session, but we do expect regular participation. If engagement is low, our team may check in to see how we can support you or reassess your fitness training options.

    • Set your own goals and schedule, with support from your coach or training program

    • Complete optional surveys to share your experience and help improve the program

This program is our gift to you, and it will be as valuable as you make it. You define your goals; our only expectation is that you show up for the process.

  • Your goals are self-defined and can include:

    • Building a consistent routine

    • Improving overall fitness or strength

    • Preparing for a race or event (optional)

    • Returning to movement after time away

The program is designed to support your next step—whatever that looks like for you.

  • Vendors were selected through a thoughtful vetting process. Most importantly, we looked for programs that could offer:

    • A structured 6-month experience (classes, coaching, or guided training)

    • A strong reputation, including positive reviews and trust within their local community

    • A mix of locally rooted programs and nationally recognized training options, offering different styles of support and environments

    • Experience supporting beginners and people returning to movement

    • A commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming, and safe environments

    • The ability to provide consistent, accountable programming (not just drop-in access)

We also prioritized partners who are aligned with our values—those who understand that movement is not one-size-fits-all and are committed to supporting people at different starting points.

Don’t see a training option you were hoping for? Help us grow—submit a recommendation for next year here.

  • If selected, you’ll receive an email letting you know you’re in around mid-May—welcome to the program! You will have 5 days to confirm your participation at that time. We’ll then connect you with your chosen training program, share your membership details, and they’ll get you set up. No payment information will be taken.

From there, you'll be onboard just like any other client with them, completing any intake forms and getting ready to start.

Your training officially begins June 1. We can’t wait for you to get started.

  • Our 6 months of training is completely FREE. We’re covering the full cost of training! Our vendors will work with us directly and you won’t be asked for any payment information. We understand that transportation, childcare, and more can be cost barriers to movement; however, this program is not able to provide this type of support at this time. Associated costs with training such are not covered but the cost of training, access, and support are 100% on us.

  • This program is meant to move with you and help reach your definition of movement. For most of our vendors, we anticipate 1-2 sessions a week of guided training but the rest is up to you! You’ll work directly with your training facility to determine what rhythm works best for your lifestyle. We’re looking for participants who intend to engage meaningfully and build a routine over time.

  • Yes…and no. Our partner locations have been carefully curated to help you find movement in your community. We have in-person training options across all 50 states and 20+ virtual options. We understand that even though there are physical options in your city you may prefer a virtual option and that is fine by us! Please carefully review our vendor directory to learn more about each site.

  • Applicants who meet the qualifying criteria will be entered into a randomized selection process to ensure equitable access to program resources. This program is not first-come, first-serve. Our staff will be reviewing applications to ensure equitable access and representation based on our research into barriers for access into movement. If selected, participant can not transfer awarded services to others at any point before or during the program.

  • Yes. This program is only open to participants living in the United States and they must have a U.S. address to apply.

  • Yes! The Movement for All Initiative is a three-year partnership between On and the Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC). We plan on launching this program again in May 2027 and May 2028.

  • While this program does not define a specific movement goal or criteria, we are looking for participants who intend to engage meaningfully and build a routine over time. We understand that life happens and it’s important to stay in communication with your training facility to ensure they are informed. Prolonged absences or lack of attendance and communication may result in rescinding the awarded services.
