The Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to unite the running industry to improve inclusion, visibility, and access for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Since 2020, we’ve partnered with brands, organizations, and communities nationwide to drive meaningful, people-centered change across the running and outdoor industries.
Role Overview
RIDC is hiring a Community Programming Manager to support the execution of our national programs and community-centered events. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, people-oriented, and motivated by mission-driven work.
Working closely with the Senior Program Manager, you will translate program plans into clear timelines, manage logistics, coordinate events, support data collection, and serve as a welcoming, on-the-ground presence for RIDC in community spaces. The position supports program execution while ensuring the backend systems, logistics, and processes run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Event Execution
Execute community programs and events aligned with RIDC’s mission and goals
Build and maintain program timelines and task plans using Asana
Manage logistics including participant communications, Eventbrite updates, Zoom workshops, and on-site event support
Represent RIDC at events, conferences, and community activations
Community Engagement
Build relationships with running clubs, community leaders, race directors, and partners through RIDC events and programming
Support and execute inclusive community events, such as RIDC CommUnity Walks and Runs, from planning through on-site execution and follow-up
Engage BIPOC media, content creators, and storytellers to increase visibility and connection of RIDC programming
Data & Reporting Support
Collect program data using established tools and templates
Maintain organized program records in Google Drive
Compile program details and summaries to support reporting and impact tracking
Operations & Collaboration
Coordinate with partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders in regards to programming efforts
Track program expenses, manage vendor relationships, and support invoice processing
Provide administrative support for revenue-generating programs and events
Support preparation of materials for internal meetings
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or community engagement
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple timelines independently
High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills
Comfort engaging in conversations related to racial equity and BIPOC identity
Proficiency with Google Workspace; experience with Asana preferred
Willingness to travel approximately 20 percent of the year
Interest in running, movement, wellness, or community-based programming
Preferred Experience
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
Experience with data collection or program reporting
Familiarity with the running or outdoor industries
Experience working with diverse and BIPOC-led communities
Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$55,000 annually
