The RIDC is so excited to be at this year’s The Running Event (TRE) - North America’s premier run and outdoor specialty retail conference and trade show. Our presence at TRE has grown over the years, and this year marks a powerful milestone as we celebrate 5 years of the Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC).

Since 2020, the RIDC has built strong relationships, launched transformative grants and mentorship programs, and introduced educational offerings designed to fill critical gaps across the industry. Our reach now extends well beyond our early footprint, shaping how the sport and business of running approach inclusion, representation, accountability, and growth.

The RIDC is for the people. Our mission is to unite the running Industry to improve the inclusion, visibility, and access for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

    What began as a simple idea — a space where BIPOC voices and joy are at the center — has evolved into an annual community celebration that brings us all together. In our first year, over 300 people RSVPed. By our second year, we doubled that number with more than 700 RSVPs, showing just how much this space means to our community and the industry. THE COOKOUT is our time to celebrate our differences and recognize the power of our collective work to make the running space better for everyone.

    Expect the same great energy: food, music, dancing, networking, and a community that knows how to show up. This is for the people we do the work for and the ones doing the work with us. Let’s move forward with purpose together.

Introducing The RIDC House!

The RIDC is proud to host our first-ever RIDC House at TRE — a dedicated space for connection, creativity, and celebration. Open all day on Wednesday, December 3rd, leading up to THE COOKOUT, the RIDC House will showcase our programs and partnerships from the past five years through immersive storytelling. Open to both TRE attendees and the San Antonio Community, welcoming all to experience the impact of our work and join in the celebration.
