This year marks a powerful milestone as the industry celebrates five years of the Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC). We can’t wait to celebrate with you during TRE at THE COOKOUT.
The event of the year is coming back! THE COOKOUT is a time to celebrate our differences and recognize the power of our collective work to make the running industry better for everyone. Come for the good food, stay for the music, networking, and vibes.
What began as a simple idea—a space where BIPOC voices and joy are at the center—has evolved into an annual community celebration that brings us all together. In our first year, more than 300 people RSVPed. By the second year, we doubled that number, with over 700 RSVPs, proof of how much this space means to our community and the industry. The event is free to attend, with an option to make a donation during registration. Every contribution supports RIDC’s programming and mission.

THE COOKOUT will host attendees of The Running Event (TRE) and the local San Antonio community.

For general admission, we are not restricting access this year! However, each attendee will need to individually claim their ticket. Space is limited.

The Location
The RIDC is proud to host our first-ever RIDC House at TRE — a dedicated space for connection, creativity, and celebration. Open all day on Wednesday, December 3rd, leading up to THE COOKOUT, the RIDC House will showcase our programs and partnerships from the past five years through immersive storytelling. Open to both TRE attendees and the San Antonio Community, welcoming all to experience the impact of our work and join in the celebration.
